I woke up this morning to a light dusting of snow on the ground, the first of the year. Which is fitting the day before the Full Cold Moon. The Cold Moon is the full moon before the Winter Solstice and marks the start of the true cold winter weather and the darkest part of the year for those of us that live in northern climates. This year the Cold Moon is a supermoon, so called because it is in perigee, its closest distance to the earth, and appears larger than usual.
The moon will appear full from Wednesday the 3rd through Friday the 5th and will be at its astronomical fullest point on Thursday at 6:14pm here in Salem, MA.
Traditionally, full moons are a time of celebration. Since they illuminate the night, they kept the party going after sundown in the days before electric lighting. The full moon pulls the tides and it pulls our emotions. Energetically, they are a time to manifest our dreams and make them reality.
As the moon wanes over the next two weeks, it is a good time to clear space and get rid of things that no longer serve. Clean the house, give to charity, make space for the new energy that will come with the new moon on December 19th, just before the Winter Solstice.

Astrology with Bekah
This full moon is in Gemini, and here in Salem, is in the twelfth house. This is a deeply emotional placement. Gemini wants to talk, but the twelfth house holds our secrets. Be prepared to feel all the feelings, but possibly not be able to express them fully to other people. Psychic and empathic abilities are heightened under this moon.
Thank you for being with me as I start my journey in my new space. Sharing reiki with you all has changed my life. And thank you to my wife, Bekah, for the astrology notes in this newsletter.
